What I'm Looking For:
I need a skilled bookkeeper who really knows their way around QuickBooks Online (Canadian version), the multi-currency accounting version. This is straightforward catch-up reconciliation work - nothing complicated, just needs to be done right.
The Situation
My company has fallen behind on bookkeeping, and I need someone to get us caught up in order to present a complete, up-to-date set of books to the accountant for them to submit to the tax department. Here's what you'd be working with:
The Basics:
∙ One year of transactions to reconcile (with a second year to follow if this goes well)
∙ About 20-30 transactions per month - pretty light volume
∙ Multiple bank accounts and credit cards across both Canadian and US currencies
∙ All transactions need proper reconciliation against statements
What Makes This Different:
The multi-currency piece is critical here. You'll be working with both CAD and USD accounts in QuickBooks Online Canadian version, so you need to actually understand how QBO handles foreign exchange and multi-currency reconciliation - not just be willing to figure it out as you go.
What I Need From You
1. Reconcile all accounts - bank accounts and credit cards in both currencies, matched perfectly to statements
2. Create a TBD list in Excel - There will be transactions where the correct category isn't obvious. Rather than guessing, I need you to flag these in a simple Excel sheet so I can tell you where they should go
3. Keep it organized - I want to be able to see exactly what was done and trust that it's accurate
Who Should Apply

∙ Have solid experience with QuickBooks Online (specifically the Canadian version)
∙ Actually understand multi-currency accounting, not just willing to try
∙ Know how to properly reconcile accounts without cutting corners
∙ Are detail-oriented enough to catch discrepancies but practical enough to ask when you're not sure
∙ Can explain what you did in plain English
