Typical assignments may include enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws; facilitating trade and travel; conducting inspections; determining admissibility for entry into the United States; preventing illegal entry and smuggling. You will also have opportunities for advancement within the organization, with promotions possible after successfully completing 52 weeks in each grade level.
- - GS-9: $61,111 - $124,443 per year
An officer can earn up to $45,000 in overtime pay as well as other incentives such as annual bonuses or longevity payments based on performance reviews;
