As the Applications Manager (UV Water Treatment) , you will lead two high‑performing technical teams and play a pivotal role in delivering innovative, differentiated solutions for municipal and industrial customers worldwide.
This is a highly visible, strategic role that partners closely with sales, engineering, operations, and research to influence customer specifications, strengthen Trojan's competitive position, and advance our technical leadership in UV and AOP solutions.
This role will require up to 20% of travel.
This position is part of the Applications Team located in London, Ontario, and will be hybrid.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will:
Lead and develop two technical‑commercial teams:
Application Designers: supporting municipal UV systems across North America
Applications Scientists: supporting UV and AOP applications across all global markets
Inspire and coach a diverse group of technical experts, fostering clarity, accountability, and continuous growth while ensuring exceptional support for sales teams, customers, and partners.
Collaborate with regional sales, engineering, and research to create executable, differentiated solutions that elevate Trojan's competitive advantage and win strategies.
Oversee municipal UV system proposals, ensuring excellence in system sizing, equipment selection, and proposal documentation.
Guide early‑phase customer engagement globally, including piloting, conceptual design, budgetary sizing, and solution development that shapes specifications and long‑term customer value.
Ensure accurate and competitive equipment sizing, scope definition, and cost development through close collaboration with engineering and operations.
Drive continuous improvement, developing tools, standard work, and best practices that enhance technical consistency and elevate the customer buying experience.
Represent Trojan as a senior technical leader, engaging with customers, consultants, and contractors; authoring and presenting technical reports and thought leadership.
Provide expert‑level consultation on UV and AOP sizing, performance testing, piloting, system optimization, and troubleshooting.
Advocate for customer needs internally, influencing product development, engineering changes, execution strategies, and capability investments aligned with market demands.
What You Bring
You're a strong fit for this role if you have:
A post‑secondary degree in Engineering/Science, with 5+ years of experience in water or wastewater treatment .
Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop technical teams .
Strong understanding of water treatment technologies and processes , industry standards, and regulatory frameworks.
Demonstrated success in customer engagement and a strong customer‑centric mindset.
Willingness to travel up to 20% globally for customer visits, conferences, and internal collaboration.
Nice to have:
Deep knowledge of UV water treatment science and technology , especially disinfection and AOP applications.
The base salary range for this role is $97k-120k CAD annually. Factors that will be considered for the salary offered to the successful candidate include internal equity, years of direct job related and skill experience, and relevant job market.
