As an FP&A Analyst at Drax, you will provide financial planning and analysis support for Pellet operations, particularly in the Northern Region. Under the guidance of the Senior FP&A Manager, you will assist in achieving the team's objectives by delivering high-quality, timely, and insightful analysis for both short and long-term goals.

What you'll bring: To excel in this vital role, you'll need:

  •  Over 5 years of experience in a business environment or in practice while working towards obtaining an accounting designation (CPA preferred).
  • Essential experience in a relevant financial setting, such as financial accounting or reporting.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in the MS Office Suite. Familiarity with enterprise planning tools like Planful and reporting/dashboarding tools, including Power BI, is considered an asset.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and quickly adapt to changing business requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of calculations and analyses.
  • Highly numerate with strong analytical skills; capable of building and analyzing complex financial models and reports.
  • Excellent team player.
  • Adaptable and capable of working independently while also being able to lead by example.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to adjust tone and style for different audiences.

& Management

  •  Support the FP&A team with business planning and reforecasting processes.
  • Provide key financial analyses, reports, and insights, both internal and external.
  • Collect and maintain data within a KPI framework to monitor and assess business performance, ensuring alignment with both short-term and long-term strategic plans.
  • Optimize the use of Group forecasting and reporting tools to assist the FP&A team in planning and decision-making, ensuring that Pellet operations requirements are clearly understood and integrated into the ongoing development of these tools.
  • Participate in ad hoc responsibilities and projects as directed by your line manager or senior finance management.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across various teams (operations, sales & logistics, finance) to identify cost-saving opportunities, develop project plans, and monitor progress against expected results.
