PRODUCTION PLANNER

Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and develop the weekly production forecast
- Establish detailed production plans and confirm material and resource availability
- Confirm product availability with sales and customer service to meet demand
- Works closely with purchasing to ensure delivery/availability of raw material as required
- Support new product introduction, including material availability and production planning
- Develop, implement and manage performance metrics
- Participate as a key team member to consistently achieve improvements to on-time delivery performance
- Maintain optimal finished goods and Kanban inventory levels to meet Customer delivery expectations where required.
- Reviews capacity planning, resolves bottlenecks and constraints, and suggest process improvements
- Works closely with production and customer service teams to plan, schedule and communicate the status of customer requirements
- Maintain weekly records of key performance indicators
- Takes ownership of production plans and drives the correct priorities to deliver on time
- Strong understanding of Syacc and MRP to better plan
- Undertake other tasks as assigned by management
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Experience with production scheduling in an industrial setting
- Previous experience or sound knowledge of ERP systems, in particular the production planning and inventory management modules
- Knowledge of Experience in the Practice of Lean Manufacturing
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Inventory management skills required
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and time management skills
- Proficient in MS Office
- Able to deal with a demanding and changing work environment
- Highly detailed and organized
- Strong written/verbal communication
Minimum Qualifications
- 3 yrs. Materials Management Diploma and/or APIC's CPIM certificate or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Master Scheduler or production planner experienced in ERP and JIT environments or equivalent
- Customer/Project management experience
