About

You are a Senior Quality Assurance Coordinator supporting the Fibre to the Home (FTTH) program by performing quality assurance activities across both field and desk-based environments. You are responsible for conducting field inspections, reviewing photographic documentation, and verifying work completed meets client and program standards. The Senior QA Coordinator supports multiple FTTH projects and assists in identifying quality deficiencies, tracking corrective actions, and maintaining accurate QA records. You have a strong understanding of FTTH construction activities and the ability to apply client standards consistently across residential fibre builds.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Working on site daily (in varied weather conditions) to ensure client standards are met including correct depth of facilities placed, accurate location of vaults/handholes and pedestals as well as the customer ducts and fibre optic service closures (FOSC) are installed to standard. Aerial facilities must be installed to maintain hydro clearances and safe limits of approach as per Industry Standards
  • Provides guidance to QA Coordinators
  • Prepare reports and documents outstanding deficiencies and maintain accurate project records. Update on-line reporting while collaborating with construction team members on field progress
  • Conduct final field validations on As-Built maps prior to submission to the Client
  • Facilitate weekly meetings with Operations Managers to address ongoing field results. Make recommendations for improvements based on quality findings
  • Develops training presentations and delivers them to the select groups based on gaps identified in the field. Attendance must be kept and logged in the proper project files
  • Maintains a healthy and safe work environment and adheres to Book-7 traffic control which are provincial guidelines for directing the flow of traffic through construction zones (i.e. where to place traffic safety cones and Construction Ahead signage)
  • Escalates any hazardous conditions and prioritizes the required repair based on key criteria

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in telecommunication construction fibre-related industry
  • Solid understanding H&S requirements in the field and Book 7 Traffic Control
  • Knowledge of fiber optics, Aerial and Civil Construction Standards and safe limits of approach
  • Background in H&S in a Field related setting and dealing with Hazardous situations
  • Proven understanding of quality processes and various client quality and Industry standards
  • Previous Civil Construction, Aerial Construction, Cable Placement and Residential build experience are preferred
  • Previous experience on a team of Telecom Quality Inspectors is preferred

Working Conditions:

  • Flexible working conditions – both home and office based
  • Some travel will be required to site and/or office locations within Ontario

Compensation

$70, $96,800.00

This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
