THE ROLE:
AMD is seeking a visionary Engineering Manager to lead our FEINT/Implementation team. You won't just manage a process; you will be the catalyst for the next generation of AMD Microprocessors powering everything from global Data Centers to the next frontier of VR. You will own the synthesis, timing closure, and physical implementation for high-speed (>2G) designs that define the industry standard.
THE PERSON:
You are a technical strategist who finds as much satisfaction in unblocking a complex CDC issue as you do in mentoring a junior engineer into a lead role. You bridge the gap between high-level architecture and physical reality. We are looking for a leader who values collaboration over hierarchy and precision over speed, ensuring we hit PPA targets without compromising on quality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Empower & Mentor: Cultivate a high-performance culture by coaching a mid-sized team of FEINT and Physical Design engineers.
- Strategic Execution: Drive the physical implementation of IPs from synthesis to constraint development, optimizing for PPA while maintaining aggressive development schedules.
- Cross-Functional Synergy: Act as the technical bridge between RTL architects, SoC teams, and IP managers to ensure seamless integration.
- Process Innovation: Identify bottlenecks in the design flow and implement automated or structural improvements to enhance team velocity.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Proven Leadership: Experience managing distributed engineering teams through the full silicon lifecycle.
- Deep Technical Roots: Expertise in Synthesis, STA Constraints, CDC/RDC, and Physical Design.
- Analytical Clarity: Ability to distill complex technical hurdles into actionable insights for executive stakeholders.
- Automation Mindset: Proficiency in TCL or Python to drive flow efficiency.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
Bachelors or Masters degree in computer engineering/Electrical Engineering
