Overview:
Are you passionate about optimizing process controls and working collaboratively with the support of a dynamic team? In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining plant automation and process control networks and firewalls in a complex operating environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Five years of system administration experience in networks and firewalls
  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Technology
  • Experience with cabling and troubleshooting of Layer 1 issues
  • Knowledge configuring and supporting OT networking and firewalls
  • Understanding of cybersecurity and best practices in OT environments
  • Experience with computer hardware repair and replacement and computer data center upkeep

Responsibilities:

  • Perform work on OT communication systems for both new installations / expansions and maintain the existing systems
  • Perform daily system monitoring using management applications
  • Build, install and commission new systems to support growth of the infrastructure and maintain existing infrastructure with reliability and cybersecurity
  • Troubleshoot system and network issues, and provide solutions to problems, including after hours on-call support
  • Maintain system reliability by performing scheduled preventive maintenance and creating or updating technical documentation as needed.
  • Adhere to and apply our safety policies, standards and values in the execution of your work

Location and other Key details:

  • You will work out of our Syncrude Mildred Lake site in Fort McMurray
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
  • This position is safety sensitive
  • This position is security sensitive which requires you to clear a criminal history check
  • Our engineering roles follow internal compensation guidelines and the pay band will be based years of experience and scope of work
  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory. Relocation support will be provided; we offer highly competitive housing assistance to eligible individuals
