What you will doRole Description:
Leads a part of the business toward achievement of set business unit goals. Participates in and supports vision and strategy development and decision making for the whole company. Translates mission, vision, and strategy for the enterprise to mission, vision, and strategy for the business unit.
Job Responsibilities:
- External Communications 9: Take responsibility for developing and delivering the organization's external communications system.
- Brand Strategy and Effectiveness 9: Take responsibility for implementing the organization's brand strategy.
- Brand Positioning 9: Lead the development of the brand positioning within the overall brand strategy and articulate the desired brand positioning to the business.
- Corporate Representation 9: Represent the organization or institution in a variety of industry, institutional, and/or professional forums, boards, and committees, in order to promote the company or institution brand or efforts. Represent the organization in external relations with investors, clients, industry, partners, the public, and others. Focus is on a specific area of the organization, such as a function or department. May involve preparation of presentations and materials for professional partnering meetings, seminars, and conferences.
- Public/Government Relations Campaign Planning 9: Lead the alignment of the public relations, government relations, regulation, and registration plans to the strategic goals of the business to ensure that any spend is focused and provides best value to the business.
- Set up proper way of working and governance mode to ensure sufficient supervision of the team delivery. Responsible for overseeing the working methodology and facilitating the needed events and follow up on the outcome.
- Guide product strategy and work out the product road map together with team, and make sure the road map is delivered as expected with proper governance process.
- Team management, create right working atmosphere to engage and coverage team members to be fully accountable and passionate to deliver the aligned product road map.
- Overseeing the technology roadmap for one or more products and align it with Volvo Cars' architectural principles, with consideration of below aspects:
- Crafting a Tech Strategy: You should work closely with your team to develop and continuously update a tech strategy that aligns with the product vision and strategy. Remember, a solid tech strategy is fundamental to the success of your product.
- Managing Technical Debt: Your role is accountable for helping your product counterpart and the team understand when it's appropriate to take on technical debt and when it's necessary to pay it off. Balancing these decisions is critical for long-term success.
- Considering Key Factors: When making technical decisions, you are responsible for ensuring that the team considers factors such as the total cost of operation, security, scalability, maintainability, and testability. Strive to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) that can measure these aspects effectively.
- Promoting a Culture of Efficiency: Encourage a culture that prioritizes thinking about whether to reuse, buy, or build when tackling technical challenges. This approach can lead to more efficient solutions.
- Staying Informed: Stay updated on the initiatives of central and adjacent teams and actively contribute to enhancing relationships and collaboration with them. Building strong relationships across teams is essential for successful execution.
- Adhering to Architectural Principles: Ensure that all decisions made by your team are guided by Volvo Cars' Digital Architecture Principles. These principles should serve as the foundation for your technical choices.
- Create clarity for empowerment. Ensures that the team has clarity and understanding of the vision, guidelines, and other boundaries in which the team can thrive. You participate in technical discussions to stay updated in relevant technology domains to be able to coach the team and ensure the right resources are in place, on time, meeting the roadmap needs.
- Encourage data driven business, you proactively think about how to present progress against product goals or operation goals through e.g. building the right dashboards and reports.
