As a Senior Software Engineer on the Risk Engineering team, you will lead technical projects from inception to production and play a key role in shaping our risk detection and mitigation systems. You will also mentor less experienced engineers and set technical standards for the entire team. What You’ll Be Doing
Technical Leadership & Delivery
Draft and review technical design documents for complex features and systems. Lead the delivery of end-to-end projects, covering implementation, deployment, and monitoring. Design and contribute significantly to building new systems or major features. Manage projects of varying sizes and complexities. Facilitate team rituals, including code reviews and incident response. Turn high-level concepts into effective working architectures. System Architecture & Quality
Enhance code quality and tackle technical debt across the team’s codebases. Identify and implement scalable solutions for team use. Develop systems and features that enhance the team’s delivery of quality work. Address high-impact debt and quality concerns while optimizing existing systems. Lead troubleshooting, bug triaging, and performance improvements. Ensure solutions are practical for teams both within and outside your function. Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing
Guide, coach, and mentor junior engineers within your team. Share your expertise to amplify the impact of your skills. Help fellow engineers improve efficiency through best practices. Take responsibility for unowned tasks that accelerate team progress. Collaborate with engineering managers and product managers to prioritize work. What We Look For In You
Required Qualifications
5+ years of software engineering experience, with a proven track record in delivering complex systems. Ability to lead technical projects and mentor peers. Expertise in at least one frontend framework (React, TypeScript). Experience in building and scaling distributed production systems. Strong grasp of system design and architectural patterns. Ability to manage ambiguous requirements and create technical clarity. Experience in incident response and post-mortem analysis. Preferred Qualifications
Experience in risk management, fraud detection, or large-scale financial systems. Familiarity with machine learning models in production. Experience with real-time event processing and streaming architectures (e.g., Kafka, Flink). Understanding of payment systems (e.g., ACH, cards, crypto) and their associated fraud patterns. Experience with regulatory compliance and security requirements. History of enhancing team productivity through tooling improvements. Technical Skills
Required for Frontend Engineers
Expertise in React and TypeScript/JavaScript. In-depth knowledge of modern frontend architectures and performance optimization. Experience with state management and component design systems. Strong understanding of web security best practices and accessibility. Experience in building complex, data-rich user interfaces.
