• One year of specialized experience or education equivalent to the GS-9 grade level. This includes detaining suspected violators, enforcing laws and regulations, utilizing intelligence techniques, conducting interviews, making rapid judgments and decisions with respect to importing/exporting merchandise/to/from the U.S., or enforcement/administration of laws relating to entry/residence/departure from the U.S.

Alternatively, you may qualify through a combination of graduate-level education leading to a master's degree (or higher), LL.B./J.D. from an accredited college/university AND successfully completed CBPO Entrance Exam OR previous service as a Federal Civilian Law Enforcement officer under Title 5 USC 8336(c)/8412(d).

You must be a U.S. citizen with primary residency for at least three out of five years prior to application.
