The role of a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer is to protect the nation's borders from illegal activities, while facilitating the flow of legitimate trade and travel. As a CBPO, you will be part of an elite team responsible for safeguarding America by enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws.
A key aspect of this job is conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances to determine their admissibility into the United States. You will also be responsible for preventing the illegal entry of individuals and prohibited goods. Your duties may involve working at various ports along the U.S.-Mexico border or other international land borders.
This position requires strong communication skills as you will interact with people from diverse backgrounds. Additionally, you must have excellent observational techniques to identify potential security threats. Physical stamina is essential due to frequent standing, walking long distances, carrying heavy equipment up stairs if needed,
