Border Security Specialist
- Detect, question and detain individuals suspected of violating immigration laws.
- Inspect documents and personal effects to verify citizenship or identify violations.
The position has a career ladder with five grade levels: GL-5, GL-7, GL-9, GS-11 and GS-12. To progress through the grades you must demonstrate excellent performance over 52 weeks in each level.
- A key aspect of this role is maintaining covert surveillance to detect people who may be contravening immigration laws.
- You will also need to inspect travel documents such as passports and visas for authenticity.
