About
Their robots are designed, built and tested in-house and as the product scales, they’re looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who thrives in fast-moving, technically demanding environments.
This is not a role for someone who wants to sit in a slow design cycle. It’s for someone who enjoys turning complex ideas into robust, manufacturable hardware and refining it through iteration.
The Role
You’ll play a key role in designing mechanical and electro-mechanical systems that form part of a sophisticated autonomous robotics platform.
This will involve:
* Designing precision mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks and Fusion 360
* Developing sheet metal, machined, cast, and folded metal components for CNC manufacture
* Designing enclosures, housings, structural frames, brackets, and integrated sub-assemblies
* Working closely with electronics, software, and production teams to ensure seamless system integration
* Driving Design for Manufacture (DFM), ensuring parts are buildable, scalable, and cost-conscious
* Supporting rapid prototyping, test builds, and iterative design improvements
* Contributing to validation and verification activities, including tolerance stack-ups and basic FEA analysis
What We’re Looking For
* Strong experience designing complex mechanical or electro-mechanical systems
* High proficiency in SolidWorks and/or Fusion 360
* Experience with:
* CNC machined parts
* Sheet metal design (folding, forming)
* Cast components
* Structural assemblies
* Good understanding of materials selection and manufacturing processes
* Exposure to FEA (stress/thermal analysis) is advantageous
* Comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving environments where priorities shift
Backgrounds from robotics, motorsport, aerospace, advanced manufacturing, EV, or high-tech scale-ups would be highly relevant.
The Environment
This is a high-performance team building complex hardware at pace.
You’ll succeed here if you:
* Enjoy technical intensity and solving hard engineering problems
* Are comfortable with ambiguity and evolving requirements
* Take ownership and push for better solutions
* Communicate directly and collaborate cross-functionally
* Bring energy and a positive attitude into a demanding environment
There is a degree of chaos, in a good way. The product is evolving, the company is scaling, and the bar is high. The engineers who thrive here are the ones who enjoy being close to the hardware and seeing their designs move quickly from CAD to reality.
Why Join?
* Work on genuinely complex, real-world robotic systems
* See your designs built and tested on-site
* Be part of a company scaling globally in a breakthrough sector
* Join a team that values performance, ownership, and impact
If you’re a design engineer who wants to be close to the hardware, move fast, and build something meaningful, this is worth a conversation
