- Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration laws
You will perform duties such as detecting and questioning individuals who violate U.S. immigration laws, inspect documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations , preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens at or near the borders. These tasks require skills in surveillance from covert positions using infrared scopes during night operations; interpreting tracks marks physical evidence illegal entry persons contraband performing farm building traffic city patrols transportation checks patrolling international boundary coastal waterways utilizing vehicles horses vessels ATVs snowmobiles motorcycles
,Qualifications: Are You Eligible?
h3>Newly appointed BPAs qualify for GL-5 grade level if they possess either:
pExperience: One (1) year general work experience demonstrating ability take charge make sound decisions maintain composure stressful situations learn regulations methods techniques through classroom training on-job instruction gather concise information questioning observation examination documents records OR Education Substitution bachelor degree successfully completed full four-year course study field leading bachelor degree accredited college university Combination Experience Education combination general work experience AND successfully completed college education calculated resume official unofficial transcripts submitted application.
