Border Patrol Agent Job Description

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.


• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers of noncitizens at or near borders.


• Inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.

The typical assignments include farm checks, building checks, traffic checks, city patrols, transportation checks, patrolling international boundaries and coastal waterways using various government assets including vehicles. You will be required to perform the following tasks:

1. Farm Checks:
   - Inspect farmland for signs of illegal activity.
   - Question farmers about their operations.
