Overview
We are looking for a senior-level, versatile full-stack WordPress developer who understands that modern WordPress is not just pages and plugins, but a scalable system.
This role requires someone who can bridge education and commerce under one cohesive platform, with deep command of backend architecture, performance optimization, front-end user experience, and cross-device reliability.
This is not a maintenance role.
This is a build, optimize, and scale role.
What You Will Be Responsible For
Platform Architecture & Backend Mastery
Architecting and optimizing WordPress at a system level, not just page level
Deep experience with PHP, MySQL, REST APIs, and WordPress core
Designing a backend that scales cleanly under traffic spikes and growth
Performance optimization including caching, database efficiency, server load, and asset delivery
Ensuring stability across shared, VPS, or cloud environments
Understanding how WordPress behaves under real-world load
Front-End, UI, and Design Fluency
Strong understanding of front-end development including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern UI patterns
Ability to collaborate with design direction or implement refined UI directly
Building fast, intuitive, mobile-first interfaces
Ensuring consistency across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
Attention to user flow, clarity, and trust signals
Education + Commerce Synergy
Experience structuring platforms where educational content and commerce coexist
Ability to architect clean separation and intentional connection between learning, research, and transactional areas
Understanding of how user journeys move from education to engagement to conversion
Familiarity with compliance-aware site structuring and content gating
Building systems that support repeat users without compromising first-time visitor experience
Performance, Compatibility & Scalability
Ensuring cross-browser and cross-OS compatibility
Optimizing for speed, accessibility, and reliability
Understanding mobile behavior differences and performance constraints
Preparing the platform for growth, not patching it later
Experience with CDN integration and performance tooling
Virality & Shareability
Structuring pages and systems to support organic sharing
Understanding how UX, performance, and content structure affect virality
Experience implementing schema, metadata, and social sharing optimization
Building systems that encourage distribution without gimmicks
Required Experience
7+ years working with WordPress at a senior or lead level
Full-stack experience including backend, front-end, and infrastructure awareness
Strong PHP and WordPress core knowledge
Experience with WooCommerce or commerce-adjacent WordPress builds
Proven ability to optimize performance and scale
Experience building responsive, mobile-first platforms
Strong problem-solving and architectural thinking
Ability to communicate clearly and work autonomously
Nice to Have
Experience with headless or hybrid WordPress architectures
Experience with regulated or compliance-sensitive industries
Familiarity with SEO, technical SEO, and page performance metrics
Experience working alongside designers or acting as design-aware developer
Prior work on content-heavy or education-driven platforms
