New Vacancy: One position 

The Manager, Enterprise Strategy and Data Management is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and oversight of enterprise-wide technology, data management practices and responsible AI solutions. This role ensures alignment of strategic initiatives with organizational goals, drives IT and data governance, and maximizes business value through effective use of data and analytics. The manager leads a multidisciplinary team, fosters collaboration across departments, and champions a culture of data-driven decision-making.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Management Responsibilities

  • Establish Unit objectives and implementation plans.
  • Determine Unit priorities, assign and monitor the work of staff for accuracy, timely completion and an equitable distribution of work.
  • Establish and maintain efficient and effective Unit procedures
  • Communicate performance standards and regularly evaluate performance of staff.
  • Prepare regular management reports and dashboards for the Director.
  • Participate and contribute to the Digital Technology and Services Department and its planning, program and priority setting.
  • Develop and publish Technology Metrics and KPIs for the department.
  • Support the Director in preparing business cases relating to budget, staffing complement, and projects.
  • Other duties as assigned by Director, Digital Technology and Services.

Data Governance and Quality Management

  • Develop and maintain enterprise-wide data governance policies and technology standards including AI.
  • Implement processes for data classification, retention, and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor and report on data quality metrics to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Technology Architecture and Standards Compliance

  • Establish and maintain enterprise architecture frameworks and reference models.
  • Review solution designs for alignment with architectural and security standards.
  • Provide guidance on technology selection, integration, and lifecycle management.
  • Define data lake architecture and standards to support scalability, security, and performance.
  • Lead governance processes for solution reviews, lifecycle management, and exception approvals.
  • Develop and communicate Enterprise Architecture, Strategy and Roadmap.

Technology Risk Management

  • Develop and maintain an IT risk management framework aligned with organizational and regulatory requirements. 
  • Conduct regular risk assessments for technology solutions, data platforms, and third-party vendors. 
  • Implement controls and monitoring to reduce security and operational risks. 
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity and compliance teams on risk mitigation. 
  • Prepare risk reports and present findings to departmental leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • University degree in the field of Data Management, Information Management, Business Analytics, Computer Science or related field 
  • TOGAF and/or COBIT Certified.
  • Certifications in ITIL Foundation, PMP, AI, Security and other related disciplines strongly preferred.
  • 7 - 10 years of experience in Enterprise Technology and portfolio management.
  • 7 - 10 years in diverse roles with increasing leadership responsibilities across major projects and programs.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in people management.
  • Experience managing budgets and high-risk, high-visibility projects. 
  • Written and verbal communication skills to tailor content for diverse audiences and contexts.
  • Interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation skills to support stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and knowledge of the College's operational domains.
  • Knowledge of AI, data governance, Information Management, Enterprise Architecture and ethical AI practices, and the ability to apply these concepts in real organizational environments
  • Proven success leading cross-functional teams and driving organizational change.
  • Experience with data governance, dashboard/reporting and AI governance tools (e.g., Microsoft CoPilot and CoPilot Studio)
  • Working knowledge of emerging AI technologies and business workflow integration (strongly preferred)
  • Ability to build strong relationships with senior leadership.
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, prioritization skills; highly self-directed. abilities.
