Position Overview

We require a full-time permanent Carpenter to help with renovations and constructions in the Bow Valley area.

Wage: $30-$40.00 per hour

Full-time/Permanent

Shifts: 8-hour

Key Responsibilities

Carpentry 

Standard: adequately build, maintain, install, and repair structures in accordance with project requirements.

  • Building foundations, installing floor beams, laying sub-flooring, and installing walls and roofing systems.
  • Installation of cabinets, shelves, drywall, and insulation.
  • Adding fittings and fixtures including door handles, hinges, locks, and closures.
  • Install fittings and fixtures including door handles, hinges, locks, and closures
  • Measure, cut, assemble, and join wood and wood-substitute materials
  • Select appropriate lumber and materials that meet design, quality, and budget requirements
  • Perform repairs, renovations, and finishing work on existing structures
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches

Quality Control & Finishing

Standard: Ensure all carpentry work meets established quality standards, design specifications, and finishing requirements across all project areas.

  • Ensure all work meets high-quality craftsmanship standards and project specifications
  • Perform final checks on carpentry work prior to inspections or project close-out
  • Maintain consistency in finishes across hotel rooms, common areas, and public spaces

Coordination & Communication

Standard: Effectively coordinate with site personnel and trades to support efficient workflows, clear communication, and on-schedule project delivery.

  • Coordinate carpentry activities with other trades to avoid delays or rework
  • Communicate progress, constraints, and material needs to the Site Supervisor or Project Manager
  • Work professionally in active hotel environments with guests, staff, and management present

Health & Safety and General Duties

Standard: Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant work environment.

  • Maintain a clean and orderly job site
  • Follow all health and safety policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Report near misses, incidents, and accidents promptly
  • Support other site activities and projects as required

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of professional carpentry experience in commercial or hospitality environments
  • Vehicle license (an asset)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment on active job sites
  • High level of craftsmanship, creativity, and attention to detail
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools
  • Solid understanding of building codes, regulations, and construction best practices
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications with minimal supervision
