Partner Staffing on behalf of our Client, we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join their Calgary office. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong background in building mechanical systems design and project delivery across commercial, institutional, and healthcare sectors specializing in HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection. The successful candidate will manage multi-disciplinary project teams, liaise directly with clients, and ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest technical standards.

Core Responsibilities
Project Execution & Administration

Oversee and coordinate daily project activities alongside superintendents and foremen

Lead pre-construction turnover meetings and post-construction closeout meetings

Ensure all permits, licenses, and regulatory requirements are obtained and posted

Prepare, review, and manage all required project documentation to minimize risk and protect company and client interests

Secure, review, and execute all contract agreements efficiently

Prepare, distribute, and maintain project schedules and ensure they remain current

Coordinate procurement, buyout strategies, and material expediting to meet schedule and budget objectives

Prepare drawings and supporting documentation required by site leadership

Attend site M&E coordination meetings as required

Establish, update, and manage detailed project budgets

Monitor costs, forecasts, and overall financial performance of assigned projects

Prepare billing schedules of values and submit accurate progress billings on time
-
Price, negotiate, and process change work, maintaining complete change order documentation and logs

Review and approve subcontractor and supplier invoices

Oversee tool and equipment rentals and ensure timely returns of unused items

Participate in monthly work-in-progress and budget review meetings

Update open job budgets as required

Negotiate, prepare, and execute subcontractor agreements

Manage subcontractor and supplier performance throughout the project lifecycle

Ensure submittal logs are established, maintained, and all approvals are obtained

Ensure timely release and expediting of materials and equipment
-
Set up budgets, purchase orders, and subcontracts in PROCORE/Viewpoint

Assist the General Manager with the resolution of disputes, issues, or claims

Keep leadership informed of significant project developments

Coordinate tender submissions in collaboration with estimating teams

Review tender documentation and support bid preparation

Determine markup strategies in conjunction with the General Manager

Follow up on tenders and maintain accurate tender logs

Maintain professional, positive relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams
-
Provide constructive feedback and recommendations to leadership to improve procedures, productivity, and efficiency

Perform additional duties as required
Experience & Education
-
Minimum of five years' experience as a Project Manager in the mechanical construction industry
-
Experience managing projects valued between $1 million and $50 million
-
Proven experience preparing project estimates and takeoffs
-
Demonstrated ability to develop and manage detailed project budgets
-
Familiarity with multiple contract delivery models, including Fixed Price, Construction Management, GMP, and Fixed Fee
-
Gold Seal Certification and/or PMP designation considered a strong asset
-
Engineering degree or CET considered an asset

Strong computer proficiency, including MS Office, MS Project, Procore, Accubid, and LiveCount
-
Excellent project planning, scheduling, and organizational abilities

Strong knowledge of budget management, cost control, and forecasting

Contract administration experience

Ability to identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies

Strong negotiation and conflict-resolution skills

Clear and professional written and verbal communication

Proven leadership and interpersonal skills

Sound judgment, problem-solving ability, and decision-making skills
