We are looking to add an enthusiastic Civil Engineering Technology Student to our Field Services team for a 4- or 8-month co-op starting in May 2026

About the Opportunity
Working alongside seasoned engineers, field inspectors, technologists, surveyors, and recent graduates alike, you may be engaged in projects related to field inspection of land development, earthworks, storm and sanitary sewer systems, waterworks, and culverts and roadways. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients and remote communities within Alberta, such as Indigenous communities, land developers, municipal governments, and provincial government.

- Assisting with construction inspection, construction surveys, and other field services for various civil engineering, transportation, and land development projects.
- Supporting construction management and coordination with project teams to ensure budget and timeline parameters.
- Supporting project teams with civil drawings, quantity calculations, technical specifications, environmental construction operations (ECO) and traffic accommodation plans (TAP), quantity calculations, grade sheets, project coordination and assisting with design changes during construction.
- Assisting in the compilation of specifications, drawings, and details for tender documents.
- Design production of detailed engineering drawings including storm systems, sanitary sewers, waterworks, roadways, sidewalks, curb and gutter, and grading.
- Drafting detailed engineering drawings based on verbal instruction and/or hand sketches.
- Communicating effectively with owners, regulatory bodies, and contractors.
- Completing daily inspection reports and weekly progress reports and maintaining accurate records of work completed.
- Providing field support by conducting field reviews and contract administration.
- Ensuring quality control and verifying the accuracy of your production work.
- Preparing quantity estimates.
- Developing your skills and understanding related to utilizing AutoCAD, verbal and written communication, quantity estimates, design production of detailed engineering drawings, and fieldwork.
About You
This position is ideal for students currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering Technology program or equivalent. Related experience is beneficial but not required.

- Problem Solving – You enjoy applying theory and conducting research to provide workable solutions related to the implementation of engineering work.
- You have a Class 5 Driver's Licence or equivalent.
