About
We're seeking a diligent Receiving Clerk to join our team in historic Boston, Massachusetts! As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the receiving process. Your responsibilities will include unloading delivery trucks, verifying packing slips against received goods, inspecting items for damage, and accurately entering data into our inventory system. This role is fundamental to our Logistics and inventory management, setting the stage for smooth warehouse operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of performing physical tasks, including moderate Lifting of up to 50 pounds. Maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to all company Safety policies, including the proper use of PPE , is essential. Experience with inventory systems and shipping/receiving procedures is beneficial. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from delivery vehicles.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect incoming shipments for any damages or discrepancies.
- Accurately document all received items in the inventory management system.
- Tag and label incoming goods for proper storage.
- Organize received items and stage them for put-away.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all workplace Safety regulations and procedures.
- Properly use and maintain all required PPE .
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation.
- Contribute to the efficient flow of Logistics operations.
- Perform tasks involving manual Lifting and material handling.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in receiving, warehouse, or inventory control.
- Proficiency in data entry and inventory management software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and basic Logistics .
- Commitment to workplace Safety and proper use of PPE .
- Good organizational and communication skills.
