Software Defined Radio Development Engineer
who possesses extensive knowledge in RF systems, military communications, and Software-Defined Radios (SDR). In this role, you will
design, develop, and optimize embedded software solutions
that support secure communications and electronic warfare capabilities critical to defense systems. Your work will bridge
embedded cybersecurity, signal processing, and RF communications . You will closely collaborate with RF, hardware, and systems engineers to guide system architecture while delivering impactful solutions for our government clients. What You'll Do Design, implement, and optimize embedded software
for advanced RF and communications systems, focusing on SDR-based platforms. Lead the development and integration of signal processing algorithms, communication waveforms, and security features
to ensure performance and mission readiness. Collaborate across disciplines
(RF, hardware, systems, integration, and testing) to define software requirements, supporting resilient system architectures for critical applications. Drive hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) testing, mission simulations, and field validation , addressing complex system-level issues to enhance overall system performance. Provide technical leadership within project teams , engaging in design reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and facilitating technical discussions with clients. Required Qualifications U.S. citizen with an active DoD TS Clearance . Bachelor's degree
in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a similar field. 7+ years of relevant experience
in embedded software development for RF, communications, or signal-processing systems. Solid expertise in developing software in
Linux-based embedded environments . Strong knowledge of communication systems, RF, and SDR frameworks , such as GNU Radio, REDHAWK, or equivalent. Experience in radio equipment modeling and simulation , enhancing performance through analysis and optimization. Fundamental understanding of digital signal processing concepts , including modulation, error correction, adaptive techniques, and waveform optimization. Hands-on experience in Agile/DevOps environments , utilizing tools like Git, Jira, and CI/CD pipelines. Work Environment Hybrid role with on-site work required in Huntsville, AL Flexible 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off).
