RN MDS Coordinator

About
1. Coordinate a comprehensive resident assessment according to state and federal rules and regulations. Utilize in-put from direct care staff and Interdisciplinary Team.
2. Encourage and maintain open communication between all departments. Promote “Team Approach”.
3. Assist with coordination of “Family Day” with Interdisciplinary Team and administrative assessments with family.
4. Do transmission of MDS, work with Accounts Receivable in regards to financial source.
5. Provide information to Care Managers related to resident concern, plan of care and safety.
6. Work with Medicare, Medicaid and private insurances. Provide documentation as needed.
7. Participate in meetings that especially address skilled care requirements and general standards of nursing practice.
8. Maintain state regulations.
9. Keep current with nursing practice.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress related to working with persons who are ill, disabled, elderly and/or emotionally upset. 2. Must be able to communicate in English.
3. Must be detailed oriented and have excellent literacy and writing, documentation, communications and interpersonal abilities.
4. Must be able to use tools and equipment required.
5. Other job duties as assigned. Qualifications: Graduate RN with current license to practice in Michigan. Prompt and regular attendance is an essential job function. Reports to: Director of Nursing and Administrator Experience in supervision and clinical care of Hospital or Nursing Home residents, medical/surgical patients.
Personal Qualifications:
1. Ability to work with management in the review, interpretation and enforcement of policies and procedures.
2. Ability to promote and maintain high quality nursing care standards.
3. Ability to use a mature and objective method of dealing with problems that arise with staff, residents and resident families.
4. Dexterity working at bedside stooping, bending for 5-10 minutes at a time.
5. Team member of nursing management staff.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
