Location Requirement This is a hybrid role based in New York City. Remote work is not available - candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the NY area.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Power BI Architect to lead enterprise-level analytics initiatives across operations, finance, and security domains. The ideal candidate combines strong Power BI and data modeling expertise with hands-on data engineering experience (Snowflake, Azure, Databricks) and a security-minded approach to BI design and governance.
You will be responsible for designing scalable data models, implementing governance frameworks, and delivering analytical solutions that enable strategic decision-making in a high-compliance environment.
Key Responsibilities Design and implement end-to-end BI architectures integrating Power BI, Snowflake, and Azure data platforms. Build semantic layers and star schemas to enable intuitive, high-performance analytics Work with Snowflake, other cloud/on-prem data sources, and design optimized data structures Collaborate with business stakeholders and data teams to define KPIs, dimensions, and fact tables Develop optimized Power BI reports, dashboards, and paginated reports Define and enforce best practices for data modeling, governance, and security (Row-Level Security, data masking, and access control) Provide mentorship and architectural guidance to BI developers and analysts Required Skills & Experience
8+ years of experience in data analytics and BI architecture roles Advanced expertise in Microsoft Power BI (DAX, Power Query, visualization best practices) Strong background in Snowflake and star schema design for analytics Proven experience in dimensional modeling and supply chain data (inventory, procurement, demand planning, logistics, etc.) Strong SQL skills and ability to work with large, complex datasets Demonstrated experience implementing secure BI solutions with RLS, data masking, and governance controls Security-minded approach to data design, with awareness of sensitive data handling and access best practices (Preferred) Prior experience working with security-related datasets or analytics in regulated industries (e.g., security operations, risk analytics, compliance reporting) Ability to align technical solutions with business goals Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft certifications (Power BI, Azure Data Engineer). Experience with Azure Synapse, Databricks, or dbt. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI/CD for BI workflows.
