Aktos is an innovative seed-stage Vertical SaaS Fintech startup seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer with a 70/30 backend focus. In this pivotal role, you will help shape our platform that empowers the $18B Credit Collections industry. Credit Collectors play a crucial yet often overlooked role in our financial ecosystem, assisting consumers in settling debts and improving credit scores, thus fostering fresh starts. They are essential for businesses such as medical offices and local governments, helping them mitigate payment defaults and secure vital revenue streams. Collectors lead dynamic, multifaceted roles—part sales, part counseling, and part investigation. At Aktos, we are developing a modern software platform tailored to these unique workflows, aiming to create a more positive credit recovery experience for all stakeholders. Founded by experienced Product and Engineering leaders from notable companies like Zenefits, TikTok, Meta, LinkedIn, Google, Apple, Amazon, WeWork, and Flatiron Health (acquired by Booking.com), Aktos offers the opportunity to collaborate with some of the best minds in the industry. Our Tech Stack: Frontend - ReactJS, Redux, RTK Query Backend - Django, DRF, Postgres DevOps - Docker, Github Actions, Terraform, AWS Your Responsibilities: Collaborate closely with our CEO, CTO, and a select team of engineers to develop full stack features and enhancements. Engage across the entire stack utilizing cutting-edge frameworks and tools while owning execution. Exhibit end-to-end ownership of your contributions, leading critical components of our product roadmap. Enhance the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Maintain our AWS infrastructure. Who You Are: You thrive with autonomy, ownership, and responsibility in your work. More focused on correctness than proving a point, you enjoy learning, asking questions, and seek help when needed. A versatile individual; proficient across the stack with a specific area of expertise—whether it's optimizing SQL queries or crafting maintainable CSS. Requirements: 5+ years of software development experience. 5+ years of professional experience with Python. 3+ years of professional experience with Django. Experience in JavaScript with a preference for React/Redux. Strong foundational understanding and practical experience with relational databases (Postgres preferred). In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS; Terraform experience is a plus. Comfortable operating across the full stack. Strong engineering fundamentals along with a passion for high-quality code. Product intuition and user empathy, with the capability to make considerate UX decisions.
