Although many roles at Coinbase operate in a remote-first environment, we are not entirely remote. In-person participation is expected several times a year during team and company-wide events to foster collaboration and connection. FinHub is central to Coinbase, managing fund movements for our clients and business. We handle transactions across crypto, fiat, and internal wallets and provide essential user services, including portfolio performance and tax optimization. As our industry and company rapidly grow, we face the challenge of evolving our fund movement architecture. This role presents a unique opportunity to redesign the foundational systems that will support Coinbase for the next decade. Responsibilities: Develop scalable systems, balancing stability and long-term maintenance. Design, implement, test, and deploy product features with high correctness and scalability standards. Collaborate with frontend and data teams to enhance our REST APIs serving millions of customers. Guide junior developers and lead complex projects. What We Seek: 5+ years of experience in software development, particularly in creating performant, large-scale distributed systems. Familiarity with concurrent systems and strong intuition regarding REST API design. Proven experience in large projects with a considerable long-term impact. Strong technical acumen and good judgment on task prioritization. Ability to solve complex engineering challenges that align with team goals. Capability to mentor junior developers and technically lead new initiatives and improvements. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a rapidly growing company (from startup to mid-size). Familiarity with growth experiments or A/B testing frameworks. Knowledge of Blockchain technologies (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum). Experience transitioning a large monolith to microservices. Proficient in Golang, Ruby, Docker, Rails, Postgres, MongoDB, or DynamoDB. Background in building reliable financial or security systems. Crypto-savvy, with understanding of onchain activities like Ethereum address interactions, using ENS, and engaging with dApps or blockchain services. Note: Answers to crypto-related questions may be used to assess your onchain experience. Salary Transparency:
Depending on your work location, the target annual base salary for this position ranges from $186,065 to $218,900. Full-time offers include eligibility for bonuses, equity, and benefits (including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)).
