Conceptualize, design, test, document, and promote new software features. Perform requirements analysis and decomposition. Evaluate new languages, tools, and processes. Maintain products and manage software lifecycle (version control, configuration). Stay updated on and develop new technologies. Communicate technical information to customers, team members, and suppliers. Support and advise engineers, managers, and other stakeholders. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Research, design, develop, and test low-level software (FPGA HDL, I/O drivers, OS integration, boot). Interface with electronic controls hardware (ECU/ECMs). Apply electrical engineering and computer science principles to embedded solutions. Expertise in HDL design and FPGA synthesis (specification to place-and-route). Proficiency in embedded software languages, tools, and processes. Strong knowledge of embedded computer hardware. Programming experience in C/C++. Ability to read schematics and data sheets. Troubleshooting and system modification skills EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Computer Engineering / Electrical Engineering / similar required. Minimum 5-7 years in this capacity is a must REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Real-world FPGA experience is a key requirement Resume must demonstrate HDL and synthesis experience Secondary skills: control software design patterns/anti-patterns, ANSI C, other programming languages Familiarity with version management tools and Agile development processes Experience designing embedded electronics controls, display, or telematics software Development of FPGA HDL & synthesis, device drivers, SPI/I2C peripheral interfacing Knowledge of hardware diagnostics, OS configurations, non-volatile memory interfacing Expertise in board initialization and other chip-level interfacing

The pay range for this role is:
90,000 - 118,000 USD per year (IL-Mossville)
