As a Senior Software Engineer on the Risk Engineering team, you will lead technical projects from conception to production and have a significant role in developing our risk detection and mitigation systems. You will also mentor junior engineers, establishing technical standards for the team. What You'll Be Doing
Technical Leadership & Delivery
Draft and review technical design documentation for complex features and systems. Lead the delivery of end-to-end projects, including implementation, deployment, and monitoring. Design and contribute significantly to the development of new systems or major features. Manage projects of varying sizes and complexities. Facilitate team rituals, such as code reviews and incident response. Transform high-level concepts into effective architectures. System Architecture & Quality
Improve code quality and address technical debt across the team’s codebases. Identify and implement scalable solutions for team use. Create systems and features that enhance the team’s delivery of quality work. Resolve high-impact debt and quality concerns while optimizing existing systems. Lead troubleshooting, bug triaging, and performance improvements. Ensure solutions are practical for teams within and outside your function. Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing
Coach, guide, and mentor junior engineers on the team. Share your expertise to enhance the impact of your skills. Help fellow engineers improve efficiency through best practices. Take ownership of unassigned tasks that drive team progress. Collaborate with engineering managers and product managers to prioritize workload. What We Look For In You
Required Qualifications
5+ years of software engineering experience with a successful track record in delivering complex systems. Ability to lead technical projects and mentor peers. Expertise in at least one frontend framework (React, TypeScript). Experience building and scaling distributed production systems. Strong understanding of system design and architectural patterns. Skill in managing ambiguous requirements and creating technical clarity. Experience with incident response and post-mortem analysis. Preferred Qualifications
Experience in risk management, fraud detection, or large-scale financial systems. Familiarity with machine learning models in production. Experience with real-time event processing and streaming architectures (e.g., Kafka, Flink). Understanding of payment systems (e.g., ACH, cards, crypto) and their fraud patterns. Experience with regulatory compliance and security requirements. A history of enhancing team productivity through tool improvements. Technical Skills
Required for Frontend Engineers
Expertise in React and TypeScript/JavaScript. Deep knowledge of modern frontend architectures and performance optimization techniques. Experience with state management and component design systems. Strong comprehension of web security best practices and accessibility. Experience in creating complex, data-rich user interfaces.
