Overview Join the dynamic team at Fisher Investments Technology Department! We are looking for a Senior DevOps Tools Engineer to bolster our Corporate Systems team. This is your chance to significantly contribute to our scalable and strategic solutions as we continue to expand globally. The Opportunity: The Senior DevOps Tools Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the effective operation of tools related to Agile development processes for our application development teams. As a key player on the DevOps team, you will empower the entire Technology organization with the necessary tools and platforms to facilitate Agile planning and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD). You will report directly to the AVP - Application Engineering, collaborating closely with the DevOps and Tools team. The Day-to-Day Responsibilities Include: Collaborating with the DevOps and Tools and Application Development Team Lead to define application and integration development processes, tools, execution strategies, and roadmaps to align current designs with long-term architectural goals. Configuring and supporting cloud-based Atlassian tools to enhance application development efficiency and operational stability. Developing tools and processes aimed at automating development while maintaining robust security and audit controls. Integrating and configuring additional tools/frameworks to ensure Agile practices are applied at scale. Promoting the adoption of DevOps tools and capabilities across all Technology groups. Implementing strategies for ongoing improvement and maximization of DevOps processes and tools. Monitoring system availability and performance according to agreed timelines. Resolving issues, alerts, and incidents in line with predefined service level agreements regarding system availability and performance. Coordinating communication with other departments regarding service interruptions, conducting root cause analysis when necessary. Providing international and 24/7 support, being available for on-call duties, and working a flexible schedule for both planned and unplanned maintenance. Your Qualifications: At least 4 years of experience with:
DevOps tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory, Ansible, Terraform, AppDynamics, Splunk, or equivalent. Administering and utilizing Ansible Tower or Ansible Automation Platform for automating deployment and configuration. Any scripting language such as Shell Scripting, Groovy, Python, PowerShell, HCL, or equivalent. Creating automation within private and public cloud platforms, including Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or Amazon AWS. Administering Atlassian tools (Jira/Confluence).
At least 3 years of experience with:
Dockerfile creation, managing and running containers using Kubernetes or Docker runtime environments.
At least 3 years of experience with relational databases, such as MSSQL, MySQL, SQL, Postgres, or MongoDB preferred. Expertise in technology design, encompassing Containerization, Performance, Security, Availability, Operations, and Monitoring. Ability to:
Train IT product delivery teams in the effective use of DevOps tools and capabilities, along with experience in Enterprise application development. Inspire peers to continuously enhance processes and outcomes. Plan work for yourself and others while resolving technical challenges.
A Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, Math, or a related scientific field is required; an advanced degree is a plus.
