The Vice President of Network Operations is a strategic and operational leader responsible for overseeing the performance, reliability, and continuous optimization of the company's network infrastructure. This role will lead the strategic vision of the Network Operations Center (NOC), ensuring best-in-class customer experience, operational efficiency, and infrastructure scalability for fiber optic services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the daily operations of the Network Operations Center, including fault management, performance monitoring, and escalation resolution.
  • Drive strategic initiatives to enhance network reliability, capacity, and security across all layers of infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to plan and execute network expansions, upgrades, and transitions.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures that align with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor KPIs and SLA performance metrics, reporting trends and recommending improvements to executive leadership.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for major network incidents, ensuring timely communication and resolution.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of network operations professionals.
  • Collaborate with the customer support team to ensure rapid resolution of network-related service issues.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and service delivery benchmarks related to network infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and proactive approach to problem solving.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in network operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Deep knowledge of fiber optics network and how to design optical systems.
  • Ability to perform analytical thinking and looking at the big picture.
  • Strong Communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively internal with customers and internal teams.
  • Ability to identify risks and mitigate with industry standard solutions.
  • 5+ years' operating in an IP and fiber optics base network within a telecommunications environment.
  • Proven track record managing large-scale NOC environments and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of network outcomes.
  • Familiarity with network management platforms and tools (e.g., Salesforce, SolarWinds, Splunk, etc.).
