Financial Data Analytics Intern
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for supporting our business through data analysis, metrics programs, and collaboration on our finance team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provides and conducts analytic efforts to support business operations. Develops tracking metrics and programs to improve and maintain performance of business processes. Discovers, cleans, and makes available new sources of data pertinent to the business. Identifies, researches, and resolves discrepancies in analytical procedures or cross-functional methods. Interprets operational requirements for inclusion in studies and analyses. Provides recommendations for operational efficiencies and process improvements and assists in process automation development to support change initiative. Understands basic statistical methods and knows how to apply them in data transformations where appropriate. Understands and uses advanced analytical techniques to model complex operations systems and processes to provide better and/or faster insights. Conducts business impact analyses and validation studies through all stages: concept formulation, the definition of metrics, determination of appropriate statistical methodology, research evaluation, and final research report. Tests new technologies, tools, and data. Performs other duties as required. Basic knowledge of data analysis. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Education: Must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited University, working toward a bachelor's or master's degree.
Essential Requirements: Exceptional relationship management skills, able to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners. And excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to be a team player with a strong work ethic. Works well with others. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present and communicate with all levels within the organization, with agencies and vendors. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities, meet demanding deadlines and adjust to sudden changes in workflow. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to think independently, take corrective action, and to resolve employee inquiries and requests for information. Ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks including resolving complaints, counseling managers and employees on the interpretation of policies, procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in a variety of situations. Ability to act independently and take initiative to solve problems, implement solutions, and create new processes. Ability to maintain all job-related information in a confidential and private manner.
