We're an innovative multidisciplinary firm of environmental design consultants, building services engineers and lighting designers focused on delivering high-quality, award-winning building services and sustainable design within the built environment sector.

The Regional Lead (RL) is responsible for providing leadership and the implementation of strategy for A+D in the region on behalf of SJ Group under the brands of B+H and CHIL. As well, the RL is responsible for collaboration with the larger SJ Group for activities out of region where support is required. The Regional Lead is also responsible for execution of the region's operational plan, as set by the ED for A+D in AECA. The RL will manage the commercial interest of SJ in the region to include budgets, projects, staff and marketing objectives as established and agreed in the business plan.
They will mentor and support managers and staff within the region in the provision of excellent client service and project quality. They will support staff relationships and create a positive workplace culture. The incumbent has key responsibilities in resource and office utilisation, cost management and winning new work.
The Regional Lead has responsibility for supporting the SJ Buildings + Cities (B + C) global business leaders in the delivery of their strategic initiatives and operations within the region

The main areas of accountability and responsibility for the role are:
• Responsible for region profitability and performance to budget across all operational metrics and targets
• Accountable for client satisfaction and technical excellence of the projects and the delivery of innovative
and value-added architectural solutions
• Responsible for supporting and coordinating initiatives with the regional leadership teams across the A+D
service line and the Senior Executive Director (SED) and Senior Operations Director (SOD) for A+D, always adopting a best for SJ approach.
• Responsible for building a culture and team centered around excellence, engagement of all team members, professional development of team and overall people excellence
• Responsible for the development of all staff and to provide for and ensure the succession of all key roles
• Responsible for managing the region's quality, environmental and commercial risks to lead your region in alignment with B+C and SJ strategic directions and required outcomes relating to both quantitative and qualitative sustainability targets
• Support the ED in strategic and business planning for the region ensuring that it is integrated and coordinated with A+D, B+C as well as service lines and sectors within SJ.
• Agent for change and partnership across the group and ensuring best for business outcomes

• Undertake your roles in a timely and effective manner that aligns with the business objectives, budgets and strategies.
Business Development & Marketing:
• Ensure a robust and effective go/no-go process is adhered to for all project pursuits.
• Drive the business development and marketing functions across the region, promoting the inclusion of A+D; as well as other Service Lines and Sectors from around SJ.
• Support the retention of existing clients and the acquisition of new clients.
• Support the expansion of the region's knowledge of clients, markets and project opportunities, recording and sharing market intelligence with the SJ as a whole
• Collaborating with leaders to support the implementation of their business plans across the region, driving and coordinating appropriate outcomes with Regional Directors of Services Lines and Sectors.
• Help with the identification and winning of A+D projects, as well as take advantage of the Multi-Discipline Team (MDT) capabilities of SJ.
• Create robust inter-company SJ relationships at all levels.
• Co-ordinate with and support Sector leaders to identify and secure MDT project opportunities for the region and SJ Group.

Financial Compliance and Reporting in conjunction with operations and finance team:
• Responsible for monthly and quarterly reports including those to the service line (A+D) and business line
(B+C), to include: accurate forecasts, fee projections, project profitability, regional commercial performance,
operational results, progress on all key projects and strategic initiatives and forward projections for revenue
and profit
• Authorises expenditure of funds and enters into contracts involving expenditures within the limits of delegation
of authority (DOA) approved by the Company and SJ from time to time
• Ensures that organisation funds are used prudently and in accordance with the annual budget, Company and
SJ policy and funding body requirements
• Collaborating with the Health and Safety Environmental and Quality Global Leader to support the
implementation of the Quality and Environmental Management Systems across the region, driving and
coordinating appropriate outcomes with Sub-Region Regional Directors, and Group Operations.
• Responsible for project cost and margin estimates (Cost to Complete – CTC).
• Responsible for ensuring that finance staff manage accounts and invoicing within the required timeframes
each month
• Manage robust and accurate tracking of earning positions across all projects on monthly basis
• Maintaining a strong cash-flow positive position for the region by active management of all debtors when
assistance is required by the company, and maintenance of an acceptable work in progress position.
Projects:
• Responsible to ensure that the development, reviewing and checking of fee proposals and contract reviews
are in accordance with DOA (Delegation of Authority).
• Active involvement in key projects of the region ensuring exemplary service is afforded to clients, that client
requirements are clearly understood by all company personnel involved in the project, proactively managing
changes and ensuring that clients' requirements are met
• Project involvement as appropriate to include support to the preparation of preliminary designs, reports, peer
reviews and output approvals as required.
• Responsible to ensure design and design documentation reviews are undertaken throughout the region
including participation as you see fit;
• Ensuring the selection and/or approving of subcontracted consultants including development of scope,
program and commercial aspects are in accordance with the Delegation of Authority (DOA).
• Ensuring the company achieves the best possible commercial outcome on all its projects, including the
negotiation of scope of works, fees and change control
• Participate in Project Control Group's (PCG's) on selected key projects
• Collaborate with legal and Health and Safety Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) teams to support the region
in the compliance of all legal and regulatory requirements for jurisdictions within your region
People:

Oversee hiring, utilization and develop of staff.
• Demonstrating leadership in the cultural attributes aspired to by SJ.
• Ensuring staff level, mix and skill base is balanced and appropriate to match current and future workload and
key operational future strategies.
• Responsible for creating a culture of Safety, health and safety (H&S) operations and procedures within your
regions, ensuring compliance with related policies.
• Collaborate with People & Culture (P&C) global and regional and sub-regional leadership to support the
delivery of, and feed into, strategies and initiatives.
