Role Overview

Your next career move starts here. As a Technical Writer at TAO, you will plan, develop, and maintain high quality product documentation for both internal teams and external clients across print and digital platforms. You will collaborate closely with product, development, and client-facing teams, using AI-assisted tools to streamline documentation processes and ensure clarity, consistency, and accuracy. This role requires quickly building product expertise, adapting to evolving customer use cases, and delivering written, visual, and video-based content that supports product adoption, customer demonstrations, and business insights while consistently meeting critical deadlines.

Your next career move

  • Plan, develop, organize, and write product documentation for both internal and external audiences
  • Generate documentation for print and online platforms to support internal teams and clients, ensuring consistency and clarity
  • Provide writing, editing, and documentation support to TAO team members and clients, leveraging AI-assisted tools to improve productivity and streamline processes
  • Prepare charts, graphics, and screen captures to illustrate technical material and support written content
  • Assist the TAO product development team with internal KPI metrics, using documentation to track and report key performance data
  • Support TAO customer demonstrations, including creating marketing materials and utilizing TAO's internal data analytics platform to enhance the customer experience
  • Quickly learn and adapt to evolving customer use cases and adjust documentation and training materials accordingly to meet emerging needs
  • Grasp new product enhancements and modules through ad-hoc training sessions and job shadowing, ensuring a holistic understanding of TAO products and customer interactions
  • Create tutorial and key concept videos, including webinars for new product features and regular content updates
  • Meet critical project deadlines, maintaining high quality and accuracy in documentation even under tight timeframes
  • Other duties as assigned

Does this sound like you?

  • Degree or certification in Technical Writing, English, Journalism, or another writing- or literature-related post-secondary program, or equivalent years of professional experience in technical writing
  • Proven experience working in a technical writer role, preferably within the software industry or financial services environment
  • Strong motivation and ability to quickly learn complex products and develop subject-matter expertise (SME) to accurately translate product functionality into clear technical documentation
  • Strong working knowledge of XML, HTML, and CSS
  • Proficiency with screen capture and documentation tools such as Snagit, Camtasia, ShareX, MadCap Capture, or equivalent tools
  • Demonstrated experience producing tutorials, animations, and video-based documentation, including walkthroughs and feature demonstrations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Visio, as well as Google Workspace tools
  • Experience using AI-assisted writing and content tools to support documentation creation, editing, and process streamlining
  • Strong attention to detail, editing skills, and commitment to documentation accuracy and consistency
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively across technical and non-technical teams

Base Compensation: $65,000 - $85,000

Placement within the range is determined through the interview process and is based on a candidate's knowledge skills and qualifications for the role. Additional opportunities for compensation include, but are not limited to: paid vacation, volunteer days, employer paid benefits, profit sharing and bonus program participation (where applicable).
