Your place in our story
The Dockmaster is responsible for the maintenance of the loading dock and commercial parking located at 39 Niagara in Toronto, ON, specifically as it relates to incoming and outgoing deliveries, planned/unplanned moves, and waste removal.
Here's how you'll contribute
First point of contact to welcome incoming delivery companies, tenants, contractors, customers and other visitors in the loading dock area;
Oversees incoming and outgoing deliveries for commercial retail tenants, condo owners and residential tenants;
Coordinates with Mastersite property management, condo owners and residential tenants for all move ins and move outs, incoming and outgoing deliveries, construction work, waste management services (e.g. recycling and garbage removal) and other services to/from site;
Maintains traffic control in the loading dock including all three commercial retail and residential loading bays for incoming and outgoing deliveries, planned/unplanned moves, contractors, and waste removal;
Enforces loading dock policies, procedures and guidelines;
Delivers training on an as-required basis to various stakeholders regarding procedures, guidelines, safety measures etc. for the loading dock;
Maintains log book of activities in the loading dock including deliveries and move ins/outs;
Provides assistance to residents, customers, commercial retail tenants and contractors in a variety of areas including the delivery of items and answering questions;
Performs cleaning duties in the loading dock area at all times and arrange for pickup of discarded materials, construction/ and moving materials;
Allocates and organizes specified storage areas for specific items such as delivery material (e.g. wood pallets), construction surplus, etc.;
Allocates placement of signage, barriers, cautionary notices and stanchions for the loading dock area, when required;
Performs and carries out emergency procedures as required for the loading dock and commercial parking area;
Monitors the loading dock and commercial parking to ensure area is safe and secure;
Inspects the loading dock and commercial parking entrances daily for deficiencies, i.e. ice, debris etc.;
Calls taxis or shuttles for guests, residents and others when required;
Maintains health & safety procedures;
Fulfills assigned role(s) in case of emergency events;
Assists with special tasks as directed by management; and
Performs other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested by management.

A minimum of one to two (1-2) years of work experience is required.

Hiring pay range: $55,000 -$58,000 per a year
