About the role
- This is a full-time, on-site role for an Inside Sales Representative at Thorp Controls in the Denver, Colorado area. The Inside Sales Representative supports the sales organization by managing customer relationships and supporting business development plans, processing quotes and orders, responding to customer inquiries, and collaborating closely with Outside Sales, Vendors, and Operations. This role is critical to delivering seamless customer experience and ensuring accuracy, responsiveness, and follow-through throughout the sales process.
What you'll do
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customers via phone, email, and internal systems
- Analyze customer requirements and recommend appropriate products or solutions
- Create, process, and follow up on customer quotations in coordination with Outside Sales and Vendors
- Enter and manage sales orders accurately and efficiently
- Track and communicate order status, lead times, and delivery updates to customers
- Utilize Thorp CRM and ERP systems to document customer interactions, opportunities, and activities
- Support Outside Sales by prospecting for new clients, preparing quotes, coordinating pricing, and assisting with account management
- Develop strong working relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams
- Maintain product and vendor knowledge to effectively support customer needs
- Strive to exceed customer expectations through responsiveness, accuracy, and professionalism
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree, trade school, or technical education is preferred
- 2+ years of Inside Sales, customer service, or industrial distribution experience preferred
- Experience in the automation, electrical, or industrial supply industry is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Results-driven with a customer-first mindset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team
- Technology-proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and CRM/ERP systems
