Salary Range: $88,000-$120,000

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and servicing process equipment used in the facility for daily production

  • Lay out, install, maintain, repair plant pipelines, fittings, fixtures and pressure systems

  • Test, inspect, dismantle, repair, replace or install various types of high- or low-pressure piping, fittings and fixtures for air, water, steam, oil and gas

  • Maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic, hydraulics, closed loops water and fuel gas systems

  • Read and interpret drawings and schematics

  • Operate mobile equipment zoom boom, scissor lift, etc.

  • Work independently or in a team environment

  • Conduct planned PMs, worker orders and keep updated maintenance records

  • Troubleshoot corrective work repairs and install processing pipework fixes and upgrades to allow efficient repairs/ replacements

  • Good housekeeping practices at all times, to help maintain safe work areas for yourself and your coworkers.

Job Qualifications

  • 307A Steam Fitter Certificate of Qualification

  • Gas Technician ticket G2 or higher

  • A valid or previously held TSSA pipe ticket(s)

  • 2+ years of experience in a heavy industrial or steel environment a strong asset

  • Valid Ontario Driver's License G2 or higher

Job Skills and Knowledge

  • Temperature Tolerance: The ability to withstand extreme temperatures;

  • Reaction Time: The ability to quickly respond to process upsets;

  • Static Strength: The ability to exert significant muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects;

  • Trunk Strength: The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time, including bending and stooping;

  • Dynamic Strength: The ability to exert muscle force at intervals throughout a work shift. This involves muscular endurance and resistance to muscle fatigue;

  • Agility: The ability to negotiate different areas of the plant, including climbing stairs and ladders, and moving around barriers;

  • Manual Dexterity: The ability to quickly move and react.

Work Environment

  • The job is within a heavy industrial environment and you may be required to work within various areas of the facility.

  • Depending on the area you work in, the environmental conditions may be hot, cold, dirty, dusty, wet or noisy;

  • Safety is our highest priority, and safety procedures and guidelines must be always adhered to. This includes wearing personal protective equipment, such as hard hats, eye protection, hearing protection, respirators, flame retardant clothing and safety shoes with metatarsal protection at all times during a work shift;

  • Employees work in a unionized, highly industrial setting;

  • The Hamilton facility operates 365 days a year and 24/7

  • Work schedule is days - Monday to Friday, 7am to 3pm

  • The position requires you to work overtime as needed;
