About the Project:

Trillium Rail Partners (TRP) is a consortium of Amico Major Projects, Alberici Constructors, and Acciona Infrastructure Canada, working closely with Metrolinx to deliver the Stations, Rail, and Systems (SRS) package for the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension, a transformative 9.2 km expansion of Toronto's light rail network.

Position Overview:

TRP has a current vacancy for a Means & Methods Coordinator who will support the development, review, coordination, and implementation of construction methodologies, temporary works approaches, work sequencing, and constructability solutions including logistic since the Design Phase. This role works closely with technical team (civils and systems) and the construction team during de design phase to ensure logistic and construction strategies are efficient, safe, compliant, and aligned with engineering intent and project constraints.

The Means & Methods Coordinator will support the development of the construction schedule, the risk assessment and the cost estimation to ensure that construction means & methods  are properly addressed on them.

Key Responsibilities:

During the Implementation phase, this role will facilitate the construction with the clear and detailed definition of the means and methods and the required temporary works on time and in coordination with the construction team.

  • Support development of construction means and methods for tunnels, stations, elevated guideway, utilities, and systemwide works.
  • Ensure that they are properly integrated on design, quantities, cost estimation, risks and construction schedule.
  • Prepare and review construction plans, methodologies, staging concepts, lift plans, access strategies, and detailed work packages.
  • Coordinate with engineering disciplines to ensure construction approaches align with IFC design intent and temporary works requirements.
  • Facilitate constructability reviews with field teams, identifying risks, conflicts, or opportunities to optimize execution.
  • Support preparation of Method Statements, Safe Work Plans, and documentation required for internal and client approvals.
  • Develop work sequencing charts, task breakdowns, and constraints identification for major structural and civil activities.
  • Assist in coordinating temporary works design requirements including shoring, scaffolding, formwork, falsework, hoisting, and access structures.
  • Work with Safety teams to ensure construction methodologies include required controls, hazard mitigations, and compliance with OHSA and project-specific HSE standards.
  • Support field execution by resolving technical queries related to construction methodologies and coordinating clarifications with engineering teams.
  • Maintain documentation including redlines, revisions to construction approaches, and records supporting inspection and quality processes.
  • Review site logistics layouts, material handling plans, laydown areas, crane charts, and equipment selection for construction activities.
  • Coordinate with Interface & Integration teams to ensure construction strategies do not conflict with systems installations or future works.
  • Support Project Controls by providing input into schedule updates, productivity reviews, and planning for future work.
  • Assist procurement efforts by identifying specialty materials, access equipment, and construction tools required for execution.
  • Other duties as required.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • 3–7+ years of experience in construction engineering, means & methods development, temporary works planning, or heavy civil construction support is preferred.
  • Experience in major buildings, civil, rail/transit, tunneling, or elevated guideway projects preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, temporary works, site logistics, and access planning.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, staging plans, and construction workflows.
  • Experience preparing Method Statements, Safe Work Plans, or equivalent documentation.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, MS Office, and construction planning tools.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to safety, constructability optimization, and technically sound construction execution.
