Join our growing team as a Senior Estimator – General Contractor Preconstruction, where you will lead the preconstruction and tender process for large‑scale projects pursued in a General Contractor capacity. This role is responsible for reviewing owner‑issued submission documents, coordinating and validating trade pricing, ensuring clear scope alignment, and delivering complete, compliant, and competitive bid submissions. Success in this position requires strong technical judgment, disciplined procurement management, and the ability to control timelines while contributing senior‑level insight on pricing strategy, risk positioning, and go‑forward recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review owner‑issued submission and tender documents to evaluate project fit and bid strategy
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and bid instructions for scope clarity and risk identification
  • Lead sub‑trade procurement, including scope development, tender issuance, and follow‑up
  • Perform detailed pricing reviews to ensure compliance, normalization, and clear scope coverage
  • Identify exclusions, assumptions, and risk items impacting bid integrity
  • Compile and support internal pricing reviews and bid approvals
  • Ensure submissions are complete, compliant, and delivered on schedule
  • Support post‑award trade negotiations, tender analysis, and contract execution
  • Contribute to bid strategy, risk assessments, and go/no‑go discussions in collaboration with senior leadership

 * May include other special projects as assigned by the Director of Estimating.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of estimating or preconstruction experience; 8–10+ years preferred
  • Demonstrated experience leading GC bids for projects valued at $30M+
  • Background in high‑rise residential, multifamily, institutional, or school construction
  • Experience working within an owner‑developer and/or established general contracting environment
  • Strong understanding of procurement best practices, scope delineation, and construction documentation
  • Ability to operate independently and add immediate value at a senior level in deadline‑driven environments

Role Expectations

  • Demonstrates sound professional judgment and commercial awareness across all estimating and preconstruction activities
  • Manages multiple complex pursuits concurrently while maintaining accuracy, discipline, and schedule control
  • Operates within established preconstruction processes while contributing to continuous improvement and best practices
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with senior leadership, consultants, and trade partners
  • Maintains a high level of accountability for bid quality, risk awareness, and submission integrity

Compensation & Employment Conditions

This is a full‑time, salaried position offering a competitive base salary and discretionary bonus, commensurate with experience and overall fit. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background and reference check.
