About

Fleetworthy is looking for a Junior UX designer to join our product team. In this role, you will envision how people experience our products and bring that vision to life. You will take on complex tasks and transform them into intuitive, accessible, and easy-to-use designs. Achieving this goal requires collaboration throughout the design process, from creating user flows and wireframes to building user interface mockups and prototypes. At each stage, you will anticipate what our users need, advocate for them, and ensure that the final product delights them. We're a small, highly collaborative team that iterates quickly while maintaining a relaxed environment. Each member of our team is currently responsible for a specific product area and is charged with knowledge and empathy for that cohort of users. We come from diverse backgrounds; from banking products to dating apps and everything in between, so there's no shortage of unique POVs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Proficient in wireframing, prototyping, and basic user research methods.
  • Execute design tasks, contribute to user testing, iterate on feedback.
  • Work under the guidance of senior designers and interact with stakeholders.
  • Design new experiences and make improvements to existing experiences.
  • Plan and define strategy for the direction of future iterations.
  • Quickly iterate on multiple design solutions and work through details.
  • Develop high-level, detailed mock-ups, and prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
  • Ensure designs are user-friendly, aesthetically engaging, and produce measurable results.
  • Collaborate with engineers and product managers throughout all stages of the production cycle.
  • Develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications.

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of usability principles, techniques, and testing.
  • Experience with developing and leading user research practices are a plus.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
  • Experience working in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs.
  • Experience in an Agile/scrum environment.
  • Experience contributing to, or working within, a design system. Work with design tokens is a plus.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience as a user experience designer, or similar role.
  • A portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating great user-centered design solutions
  • Nunavut, Canada
