RVA is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented and proactive Administrative Assistant – Human Resources to join our team. This role involves managing various HR functions, with some knowledge of payroll processing and employee administration to support day-to-day HR and payroll operations in a fast-paced, professional environment. This role is ideal for someone with 1–2 years of experience supporting HR functions who possesses excellent organization skills, confidentiality, and teamwork. The successful candidate will be instrumental in facilitating efficient HR administration, providing payroll support ion, and fostering a positive employee experience throughout the organization. This position requires a regular in-office presence of four (4) days per week to enhance collaboration and meet operational requirements. 

Duties:

  • Provide administrative support across core HR functions, including onboarding, offboarding, employee records, and benefits administration
  • Create and maintain accurate and confidential employee files (digital and physical) in compliance with company policies and employment legislation
  • Assist with preparation of various documentations, including letter templates, new hire packages and paperwork.
  • Support recruitment process, including job postings, interview scheduling, and candidate correspondence
  • Maintain employee records including updating personal information and entering with accuracy other data as required.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Assist with payroll preparation by collecting, reviewing, and validating employee data (new hires, terminations, changes, timesheets)
  • Support payroll processing activities and liaise with internal payroll contacts or external providers
  • Help ensure payroll and HR data accuracy, completeness, and compliance with deadlines
  • Support and coordinate HR meetings, training sessions, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Assist with tracking HR metrics, reports, and documentation.
  • Perform general administrative duties including filing, copying, and archiving documents to the appropriate HR drive and folders.  
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years of experience supporting Human Resources and/or payroll functions
  • Post-secondary education in Office Administration, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Canadian employment standards and HR best practices is an asset
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with HRIS/payroll systems is an asset
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing deadlines, and work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Professional and reliable

Compensation Range

The salary range for this position is: $55, $65,000.00

Compensation for this role will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business needs.
