DESCRIPTION: We, the Amazon Q Developer in chat applications, are a group of engineers and designers who want to change the way customers interact with AWS. Our mission is to enable customers to interact, operate and take actions on their AWS resources in a collaborative environment . We are a team of builders working on a new agentic GenAI application for comprehending complex queries, providing insightful recommendations and taking actions on users behalf. If you are looking for an opportunity to build out brand new products using complex, scalable, highly available systems, and create a business impact by improving customer experience. Key job responsibilities Designing scalable, secure and reliable software architecture.
Solving complex technical problems.
Guiding leadership and mentoring peers on technical aspects.
Improve operational excellence within the team.
Design, implement and deliver software systems end-to-end.
A day in the life Have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define these product features, drive the system architecture, and spearhead the best practices that enable a quality product.
Responsible for solving algorithmically complex problems; building services that can scale to millions of requests and deployed globally delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Use advanced technologies and GenAI capabilities to improve Amazon Q Developer experience.
Working with a group of top-notch software developers and applied scientists, seasoned product and program managers, and creative visual designers who form a great team to raise the bar on the customer experience.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: - 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience - 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
