Responsibilities:
- Locate and retrieve specified items from warehouse shelves and storage locations using order pick lists or scanning devices.
- Verify product accuracy against order details to prevent errors.
- Operate order picking equipment such as manual pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, and forklifts (certification may be required).
- Package picked items securely for shipment, ensuring proper labeling.
- Transport picked items to the packing or shipping station.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and guidelines, including the mandatory use of appropriate PPE.
- Participate in inventory management tasks, including stock checks and cycle counts.
- Communicate any discrepancies or issues to supervisors promptly.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as directed by management.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Order Picker or in a similar warehouse role is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform regular lifting of up to 45 pounds.
- Proficiency in using scanning equipment and understanding warehouse management systems.
- Familiarity with safe operating procedures for warehouse equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment.
- Excellent understanding of warehouse safety protocols and the necessity of PPE.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic are essential for success in this logistics role.
Working Conditions:
This job requires significant physical exertion, including frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting. Employees must be comfortable working in a warehouse environment which may experience fluctuations in temperature. Adherence to all safety protocols, including the consistent wearing of required PPE, is mandatory.
