Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator for our bustling facility in Washington, D.C. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials within our warehouse. Your primary duties will include loading and unloading trucks, transporting goods to and from storage areas, and assisting with inventory management. This role is essential to the smooth operation of our logistics network, ensuring that materials are handled with care and precision. A strong understanding of forklift operation and warehouse safety is a must. Your expertise is key to our operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
  • Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, electric) to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
  • Load and unload trailers and containers, ensuring product safety and security.
  • Transport materials to designated staging areas, production lines, or storage locations.
  • Perform routine inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance needs.
  • Assist with inventory management, including receiving, stocking, and cycle counts.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, free from hazards.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and OSHA regulations, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Work collaboratively with warehouse staff and management to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Follow all procedures related to our logistics operations.
  • Assist with other warehouse duties as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
  • Valid forklift certification is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of various types of forklifts and their safe operation.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 60 lbs.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse safety practices and logistics operations.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and occasional overtime.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to all regulations.
