We are seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team in Durham, North Carolina. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory. Your duties will include conducting regular cycle counts, investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies, managing stock levels, and implementing effective inventory control procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of warehouse operations and logistics. You will play a key role in optimizing our inventory management systems to improve efficiency and reduce losses. A commitment to safety, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is essential. This position requires excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and potential issues.
- Implement and maintain accurate inventory control procedures.
- Manage stock rotation and identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
- Coordinate with warehouse and logistics staff to ensure efficient inventory flow.
- Maintain organized and accurate inventory records in the WMS.
- Develop and recommend process improvements for inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and proper use of PPE.
- Assist with receiving and shipping processes as needed, which may involve lifting.
- Support overall logistics operations through precise inventory management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or logistics.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform moderate lifting (up to 30 lbs) occasionally.
- Understanding of general warehouse safety and the importance of PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
