We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our team at our facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is essential for the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse, ensuring that materials are transported safely and effectively. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts to load and unload trucks, move inventory, and transport materials between different areas of the warehouse. Maintaining a safe operating environment is paramount, and you will be expected to strictly adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE, and conduct daily equipment inspections. This position requires a valid forklift certification and proven experience. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to workplace Safety are critical. You will be a key player in our logistics operations, contributing to the smooth flow of products and supporting our overall warehouse efficiency. This role involves significant operation of heavy machinery and requires a high level of responsibility. Your diligence ensures the integrity of our Logistics chain.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers.
- Transport inventory to and from designated storage areas.
- Perform pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any issues.
- Stack and arrange materials in a safe and organized manner.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock placement.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Follow all Safety procedures and guidelines.
- Ensure proper use of required PPE at all times.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure smooth logistics flow.
- Adhere to all company policies and operational standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and safety procedures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks as needed, including occasional Lifting.
- Strong understanding of Logistics and material handling.
- Excellent attention to detail and awareness of surroundings.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and adherence to PPE protocols.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
