We are hiring a skilled Material Handler to join our Salt Lake City, Utah team! This role is crucial for the efficient movement and management of materials within our warehouse. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for operating forklifts and other equipment to move, store, and retrieve inventory. Your role is essential in supporting our broader logistics operations and ensuring that materials are readily available for production or shipment. A strong focus on Safety and operational efficiency is expected. You will play a key part in maintaining an organized and productive warehouse environment. We are dedicated to providing a safe and efficient workplace.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, ensuring proper securing and handling.
- Move and stack materials within the warehouse according to established layouts.
- Transport materials to and from various work areas as needed.
- Conduct pre-operation checks on equipment and report any maintenance issues.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through proper material tracking.
- Adhere to all Safety regulations and protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory counts and other warehouse duties as required.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organized, and free from hazards.
- Perform manual Lifting of items, up to 50 lbs, when necessary.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to optimize material flow and workflow.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift operator certification or demonstrated proficiency.
- Knowledge of warehouse Safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent Lifting.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Familiarity with logistics and inventory management systems is beneficial.
- Must be able to wear required PPE.
