We are seeking an organized and proactive Warehouse Coordinator for our Des Moines, Iowa facility. This role is crucial for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our warehouse, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to safety standards. You will be responsible for coordinating activities such as inventory management, shipping and receiving, staff supervision, and maintaining optimal warehouse organization. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a thorough understanding of warehouse procedures and logistics . Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate all warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, and shipping.
- Manage inventory levels, conduct regular audits, and implement strategies to minimize discrepancies.
- Supervise and train warehouse staff, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
- Ensure all warehouse operations comply with company policies and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Coordinate with transportation and logistics partners to ensure timely delivery and pickup of goods.
- Implement and improve warehouse procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Manage equipment maintenance schedules and ensure proper functioning of all warehouse machinery.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues related to orders or shipments.
- Ensure appropriate use of PPE by all warehouse personnel.
- Facilitate training on new equipment or procedures.
- Assist with tasks involving lifting and material handling as needed.
- Foster a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement within the warehouse.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business Administration preferred.
- Proven experience in warehouse management or coordination.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and MS Office Suite.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and logistics .
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to enforce the use of PPE and ensure compliance.
