Job Description: A Customs and Border Protection Officer (CBPO) plays a critical role in safeguarding U.S. borders by detaining suspected violators of federal, state, or local laws. CBPOs enforce customs, immigration, and agriculture laws while facilitating legitimate trade and travel. The officer must utilize intelligence techniques to identify potential threats and perform risk assessments for violations of laws threatening national security. The primary responsibilities include conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances; determining admissibility for entry into the United States; preventing illegal entry of people or prohibited goods along with smuggling illicit drugs or other contraband.
Required Skills & Qualifications: Our ideal candidate will possess at least one year of experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level that includes detaining suspected violators using proper law enforcement methods; enforcing customs regulations relating to importing/exporting from/to USA; utilizing intelligence analysis for identifying threats/potential risks.
