The Grenzy Recruiting Group is working closely with a well-established local company in their search for an Assistant Controller. The Assistant Controller plays a key role in supporting the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. This position partners closely with the Controller to ensure accurate, timely financials while helping improve processes, strengthen controls, and support the company’s growth. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader who enjoys both technical work and mentoring others. The company treats its employees well, evidenced by long employee tenure and internal promotions. In fact, this role is designed to grow into a controller. Responsibilities include: Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements Assist with preparation of GAAP-compliant financial reports and management reporting Help maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures Support external audits Review balance sheet and income statement accounts; investigate and resolve variances Assist with payroll Assist with cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting activities Provide guidance and mentorship to accounting staff as needed Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred) 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting Previous supervisory experience The Grenzy Recruiting Group, LLC is a local recruiting firm that specializes in the full-time, direct-hire placement of accounting professionals.
